Welcome to Aptana. My name is Michelle, and I'm going to be showing you how you can edit a file that's on a remote site, and save that file directly to the remote site.

In a previous video, I showed you how to set up an FTP site. You're going to need to have an FTP site set up to the site that you want to edit files on before you can actually edit those files. So if you haven't seen that screen cast yet, you might want to go back and take a look at that before you actually watch this screencast.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to open up a file that's on this "turboflix/foo" site, I set this up earlier, and I'm going to make some changes to the file, I'm going to save those changes, then I'll show you that the changes are still actually live on that site.

So I'll expand this folder, and I'm going to grab this mochikit_sample HTM file, and I'll just type in some sample text, like "this is some sample text", and I'm going to save my changes, close this file.

Now if I double-click this file and open it back up again, you can see that my changes are here. So this is a really great feature in case you just need to make some quick changes on a remote site that you have, and you don't need to actually go through the whole synchronization process or uploading your whole site or anything like that.

So hopefully this will make life a little bit easier for you, and we'd like to thank you for using Aptana. Thanks.
